Balmullo's Same as Gold Balmullo's Same as Gold, or
Shamus as I call him, became mine in November of 1986.
He has the quietest disposition of all of my horses. No one realizes
he is a stallion unless he happens to be talking to one of his wives, but
he is always a gentleman around my family and guests. Even when breeding he is
very careful around people. If the mare is
not in season he shows no interest in trying to breed. He has never
offered to bite another horse or human. He has run with mares, geldings and
foals, and if anything, he ends up low man on the totem pole, so to speak. Over the years he has produced lots of
different colors in his offspring. Some are palomino, dun, buckskin, bay and of
course, gray. So far we haven't had a blue-eyed cream but that is not to say its not
in our future! Shamus was born in l983 and is 14.2
hands. So far his foals (the ones that I have been able to keep track of) have his
quiet disposition, a white streak in their tails and at least one white hind sock with a
white foot. Due to limited space we breed only a few outside mares a year and our stud fee is by private treaty. |
