Questions about staying at Woodchuck Ridge
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 2 pm, check-out by 11 am. Self check-in with a lockbox — we'll send the code and directions before you arrive.
How far is it to Magic Mountain, Bromley, Stratton and Okemo?
Magic Mountain is about 5 minutes away, Bromley about 15, Stratton about 25 and Okemo about 30 — four ski areas within a half-hour drive.
Do I need 4WD in winter?
Vermont mountain roads can be snowy and icy, so AWD/4WD or snow tires are strongly recommended December through March.
How long can we stay?
Between 33 and 120 nights. In our first year, Londonderry allows only longer rentals, so we rent the whole house for a month or more — ideal for a ski season or a remote-work winter.
How many people can stay?
Up to 6 adults, or 4 adults with up to 4 children under 13 (5 adults with 2 children also works). The house has a bunk room with two bunk beds and two queen bedrooms.
Are there taxes on top?
No. Vermont's lodging taxes apply only to stays shorter than 30 nights, so your stay of 33 nights or more has no rooms tax. The estimate shows every line: rent ($4,200 per 33 nights, prorated for longer stays), cleaning fee and any dog fee.
Why do you ask for the exact number of guests?
So your rate and fees are right and we have the right beds and linens ready. Please include everyone, kids too. Unregistered guests may result in losing your security deposit — if your group changes, just tell us and we'll happily update your booking.
Are pets allowed?
Yes — up to 2 dogs, for a one-time $50 fee. Please let us know in your request.
What are the house rules?
No smoking in the house, no parties or events, and quiet hours after 10 pm. At check-out, please just lower the thermostat — no cleaning chores.
What's provided?
Linens, towels, a hair dryer and a pack-and-play. Please bring your own toiletries. The pellet stove comes with clear step-by-step instructions.
